NFL upset by Celek’s unauthorized end zone commercial

Brent Celek upset the NFL on Sunday by striking a ‘Captain Morgan pose’ after his third quarter touchdown without purchasing the proper time slot to do so.
According to one NFL spokesman, any post-touchdown commercials must be paid for at least five hours before game time, and in Celek’s case, he did not meet the required deadline.
“We obviously have no problem with allowing our players to promote things during games,” said NFL spokesman Greg Aiello. “Nike, Reebok, Under Armour and Wilson, for example, pay a lot of money to have our players promote their products after touchdowns. Celek’s check didn’t clear in time for Sunday’s game, so we weren’t able to sign off on his Captain Morgan’s commercial. He’s a young guy and still has a lot to learn about how we do things in the NFL, so we cut him a little slack this time.”
