Brandon Jennings and the resurgence of the high-top fade

It’s official: The frohawk is on its way out and the high-top fade is making its glorious comeback, more than 15 years after I transformed my own sharp box into dreds. And I couldn’t be happier.

I’m pretty jacked that I have two new favorite basketball players to follow, both out of the unsuspecting state of Wisconsin: Brandon Jennings of the Milwaukee Bucks and Ryan Evans of the University of Wisconsin.

I’m hoping this isn’t some fad with Jennings since he comes to town at the end of the season and I’d love to be that one fool at the Wachovia Center screaming “High-Top Faaaaaade” or “Ain’t Gon Hurt Noboooody” every time he hits a bucket.

Long live New Jack Swing and a fresh box.

He rocked it from time to time in Europe. Really awesome.

Yeah, I saw he did it in the McDonald’s All-American game a couple years back…dude was like 3 years old at the height of the box popularity and he’s bringin it back.
